12家英国最温暖的独立书店 相遇即是美好
每次做书店内容，阅读量都会变得跟今天的气温一样冷。
嗯，但偶尔还是想任性一下，特别是在大风降温的晚上，一头扎进街边摇摇欲坠的一豆暖光，在堆到天花板的书山中开辟一条狭窄过道，让指尖飞掠书籍，脑袋像核桃扔进锅里般劈啪作响。
今天来讲12家英国最温暖的独立书店。他们有的专卖童书绘本，有的在空间设计上另辟蹊径，有的开辟了新奇的主题和周边产品。全球实体书店都不好做，每一家都要用尽十八般武艺才能健全地活到与你相遇。
相遇即是美好。
Scarthin Books

Scarthin Books is truly a hidden treasure. Not only do they have approximately 9,000 children’s books in their children’s book room, there’s also a café behind a “secret” bookshelf. Not convinced? Read this lovingly written review.
书店藏在英国英国剑桥市德贝郡的克里姆德村(village of Cromford)，由David Mitchell夫妇创立于1974年，书店在Derwent Valley Mills世界文化遗产沿线，因为曾被卫报的记者选为世界最美的书店之一，书店的名声传扬在外，给小镇带来不少生气。这栋三层小楼共有12个房间，划归为不同功能：儿童图书室、艺术图书室、音乐室、礼品室……，甚至还有个咖啡室，以及绿树成荫的小庭院。
书店主要经营新书与二手书，兼营礼品服务，同时也出售乐谱。斯卡廷书店并不在市区，这意味着他们要非常努力地让自己在生存的同时不被边缘化。最初让他们得以自给自足的机会来自与马特洛克培训学院(Matlock Training College)签订的合同。斯卡廷的旧书交易是收入的一大来源，这也是他们能在大书店的夹缝中生存的原因所在。每到周末，就有不少他们的客户从各地赶来，细细挑选书籍，然后再离开。

This Bath bookshop is insanely charming, but its real appeal lies upstairs. You can book for a “bibliotherapy” appointment at their ReadingSpa. During the appointment, you sit with a cup of tea and nice slice of cake, while the ~bibliotherapist~ will then “gather and introduce you to a tower of books specially selected to suit your reading tastes”. Delightful.
“B先生”书店(Mr B’s ReadingEmporium of reading delights)坐落在巴斯市中心，书店的前身是一家古董店，在整体装潢上比较古朴典雅。书店店主尼克·鲍特姆巧妙地将维多利亚时期的浴室改装成了一个小藏书室，在藏书室附近，他还为读者开辟了一方乐土。读者只需花3.5英镑就可在舒适的长椅上小憩片刻，尼克还别出心裁地将《傲慢与偏见》的名句改编为书店的宣传语，并印制在杯垫上：“凡是有钱的单身人士常会流连B先生书店。”

This second-hand bookshop is a treasure trove not too far from Leicester Square. If you want to make your money go further, the bargain basement is stocked with titles for only £1 each. Perfect!

Young’s describes itself as “a wee shop, with the emphasis on quality rather than quantity”. And they’re not wrong. They’ve got a really wide range, and are especially good for quirkier finds – think vintage sci-fi, philosophy, and antiquarian books.

Put simply, Barter Books is a book-lover’s dream: 1. It’s based in an old train station; 2. A model railway runs around the inside of the shop; 3. It has so many squishy sofas, just for reading. What more could you want?

The whole village of Hay-on-Wye
Hay-on-Wye is essentially a village built on bookshops. So we couldn’t pick just one bookshop here, though Addyman and Booth’s are both faves.
这个小镇是世界上第一个二手书小镇Hay-on-Wye。它因为坐落在River Wye的东岸而得名，位于英格兰与威尔士的交界处，是Brecon Beacons国家公园的一部分。全镇有超过30家书店，大部分都是经营二手书的。从1988年开始，每年六月前十天都会举行由《每日电讯》(Daily Telegraph)赞助的文化节Hay Festival，展开一系列的文化活动。
