浅析英国大学生就业起薪跌涨幅
前不久,《国内外大学生留学与就业白皮书》在国内首发,书中对2008年到2011年国内外本科生、留学生的收入与就业率等,进行了专业分析。报告中的数据显示,从2008年到2011年,中国大学生就业起薪前五位,全部是工程类专业,而根据美国大学本科毕业生的情况看,起薪最高的是“公用事业”。
那么英国大学生的相关情况又是怎样的,下面我们就为童鞋们简要分析2005年至2010年的英国大学生就业起薪跌涨情况。
首先,就2010年的英国大学生就业起薪排行榜来看
牙医专业(Dentistry)以30293英镑的起薪在众多专业中拔得头筹。牙医作为国外传统的高薪职业,其专业毕业生的就业起薪高居榜首并不令人惊讶。
除此之外,排名前五位的依次是医学(Medicine)、化学工程(Chemical Engineering)、一般工程(General Engineering)和经济(Economics)专业。不难看出,工程学专业的就业形势和薪资水平还是极为乐观的,因此,它们能成为英国留学的传统热门专业也并非不无渊源。
而排名垫底的三个专业依次为艺术设计(Art & Design)、传播与媒体研究专业(Communication and Media Studies)和凯尔特研究(Celtic Studies)专业,其中,凯尔特研究专业以17191英镑垫底2010年大学生就业起薪排行榜。
其次,就2005年至2010年的各专业就业起薪跌涨幅来看
五年来,涨幅最大的是地质学专业(Geology),与2005年的17856英镑相比,其2010年的就业起薪达到24766英镑。
涨幅第二的是俄语与东欧语言专业(Russian & East European Languages),其涨幅为32%,2010年的就业起薪为23967英镑,与英国及欧洲陷入金融危机泥潭不可自拔的情况相比,俄罗斯经济在近几年少见起色,这也是俄语人才在英国抢手的因素之一。
与它们相反的是医学专业(Medicine),2010年该专业的就业底薪为29132英镑,然而,早在2005年,其底薪就曾达到31079英镑,它也因此成为唯一一个五年来底薪出现降幅(-6%)的专业。虽然如此,医学专业2010年的起薪仍稳坐排名第二的位置,正印证了那句老话“瘦死的骆驼比马大”。
