Students Visas for UK

Changes to the Student Visa Process
- From 6 May 2004 all individual Student applications should be presented Monday-Thursday from 9am - 11am
- Applications will be considered only on the documents you have submitted
- At 3pm the same day you will be advised whether your application has been successful, unsuccessful or (exceptionally) whether you require an interview
What you need to provide
- Application form (VAF1)
- 3 recent, clear passport sized photos on a light background (not scanned)
- The correct fee (575RMB)
- The offer letter from your institution in the UK
- Evidence of your current qualifications (incl. English where specified)/work experience
- Evidence of your funding
Considerations
- Are you suitably qualified for the course?
- Can you meet any conditions in your offer?
- How well have you prepared for your studies in UK?
- Why have you chosen UK for study abroad?
- Can you afford to study and live in UK?
Some ways to prove finances
- Good quality employment letters
- Hukou
- Deposit slips with interest slips, salary slips and bank books
- Property Ownership Certificates
- Car Ownership papers
- Stocks and Shares certificates
- Parents’ passports
Do!
- Include as much relevant information as possible
- Provide Original Documents
- Apply at least 8 weeks before you intend to travel
Don’ts
- Submit papers that have no relevance to your application
- Panic if you are asked to interview
- Take short cuts
- Assume that the visa officer will automatically know your intentions and plans - you need to explain them to us
- SUBMIT ANY DOCUMENT YOU ARE UNSURE OF: FORGERY = REJECTION
