学习机会
本科一年级开设的课程有民法、刑法及其程序法，民法和刑法文本，刑事诉讼及应用民事诉讼程序。二年级开设的课程有合同法、民事侵极行为、刑法和土地法修正案和法律技巧。三年级的必修课有欧盟法基础、公共法、衡平法及权益、学生可以从总的课程设置中选择三门课程(你也可以定一篇毕业论文代替等候一门课程)。
大学的每一个校区都有一个学习资源中心 (LRC)，包括图书馆、计算机和媒体服务，中心有170个完全联网，可自由使用的工作站，以及扫描仪、彩色复印、光盆、录像和录音重放装置。还提供完全的互联网和远程数据库连接，以及大量专业书籍和杂志。每个中心的专业顾问都会全力帮助你最有效地使用所提供的资源。

Introduction to the Thames Valley University
Thames Valley University was formerly West London Polytechnic, which incorporated the Ealing School of Art. Its earlier incarnations have bred rock stars Ronnie Wood, Pete Townsend, Freddie Mercury and the less well known but equally rocktastic Janick Gers of metal monsters Iron Maiden.
Recent times have seen trouble for Thames Valley, although nothing as disturbing as Tommy or the haircuts sported by Wood, Mercury and Gers. In November 1998, the Quality Assessment Agency's report on TVU damned its "structures and procedures for safeguarding quality and standards". Numbers collapsed; the vice chancellor resigned and many courses - including the university's successful linguistics and sociology degrees - were forced to close.
Based on sites in Ealing and Slough, TVU is implementing a radical plan to save itself that involves focusing on its core strengths: business and management, law, digital arts, hospitality and catering, tourism and nursing and midwifery.
The students' union does its best to link the sites and the bars are vibrant enough. A very large proportion of students come from the immediate area - 82% were from within 50 miles in 1997/98 and 45% came from ethnic minorities. In terms of attracting a diverse and local student body then, TVU is succeeding.
