Aspiring entrepreneurs are being offered expert advice and essential information to turn their ideas into thriving businesses - and it’s all free.
The University of Bedfordshire’s Knowledge Hub is running a series of lectures called Basics of Building a Business (B3) throughout the autumn and spring.
The lectures are delivered by successful entrepreneurs who know the pressures and the reality of setting up and running businesses. The programme is now in its sixth year and has already inspired a series of businesses including import and sales, inventions, new products, and innovative practices.
Nigel Hall, Associate Director of the Knowledge Hub said: “The B3 lectures provide an invaluable insight into building a business from people who are ‘doing it’, rather than just talking about it.
“The lectures are relaxed and open to anyone interested in finding out about starting up a business. Subject areas covered include finance, legal requirements, business plans, franchises, e-commerce and protecting business ideas. Those who attend will get the opportunity to network with established business professionals and like-minded individuals.”
The B3 lectures are free to attend and the most promising and well-presented business idea will receive a £1,000 prize to start their own business.
The lectures are held on Thursday evenings at the University’s Luton campus from 6 - 7.30pm and are open to people across the region, from individuals and start-up companies already operating, to staff and students from the University.
