萨里大学开设新国际留学生部
The University of Surrey is delighted to announce the launch of the new University of Surrey International Study Centre, a collaboration with international education specialists Study Group.
The new Centre will offer a Foundation Year programme for international students preparing to enter undergraduate degree programmes at the University.
Study Group is a leading provider of education and training programmes for international students seeking university entry in the major English speaking destination countries. The company has partnerships with a number of academic institutions in the UK, and owns and operates Bellerbys College in Brighton, London, Oxford and Cambridge.
Within the new collaboration, Study Group is responsible for teaching and administration of the International Foundation Year programme, a blend of specialised academic modules, study skills and English language training.
The University approves programme content and assessments to ensure that they meet its admissions criteria for selected undergraduate degree programmes. Initially three streams are offered:
- Business, Management and Economics
- Engineering and Computer Science
- Law, Politics and International Studies
The University of Surrey International Study Centre is launching with 80 students in 2007, with numbers expected to grow strongly over the next two or three years. The University has created a new extension to the centrally located Philip Marchant Building to provide purpose-built teaching and office space for the Centre. Students will live on campus and integrate fully with the wider student community.
The new Centre is the culmination of many months of detailed planning between Study Group and University departments and Schools. It will further enhance the University’s provision for international students and strengthen its international profile.
