威尔士大学兰彼得学院再次被评为最好的学院
The University of Wales Lampeter is again – for the third year running - in the top half of Universities across the UK, according to the latest Sunday Times University Guide. The University ranks well ahead of most institutions in Wales and is only narrowly beaten by Cardiff and Swansea for the quality of research.
Overall, Lampeter was placed in 59th position out of the 123 higher education institutions included within the survey.
Within the profile of Lampeter included in the Guide, the Sunday Times reports that “Lampeter has a strong liberal arts tradition. Some courses are very of the moment, such as the new single honours degree in Chinese studies, or Islamic studies. Others are traditional, such as archaeology, philosophy and divinity. The remainder span all points in between.”
The Sunday Times also observes:
“This is one of the more affordable places to study, whether living in the ample supply of cheap accommodation or out in the town or in one of the villages. And few universities have such outstanding scenery on the doorstep.”
Vice Chancellor, Professor Robert Pearce said “It is great news that the Sunday Times has recognised the special character of the University of Wales, Lampeter as an institution which offers both traditional and modern courses, flexibility in study patterns, and an excellent environment. I was especially pleased to note that the guide acknowledges the work which the University does with part-time students. The guide shows that – at Lampeter at least – it is possible to combine a commitment to the needs of students with high quality research…”
The Sunday Times University Guide 2007 was published on 23 September 2007 and contains profiles of all universities and higher education colleges in the UK.
