Teachers, trainee teachers, sport science students and assistant teachers will gain an understanding of the essential skills related to football on Canterbury Christ Church University's Football Association Teaching course.

The two day course, led by a Football Association tutor, will take place on Sunday 4th November from 10am to 4pm and on Sunday 11th November from 10am to 4pm  at the University’s North Holmes Campus, Canterbury.

Participants will learn how to organise a football game with basic rules for children aged 7-11 years and will be able to view a presentation on lesson planning for primary age children.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive the Football Association Teaching Certificate Key Stage 2, which is a recognised qualification in the teaching profession.

Kim Debling, the Sport and Recreation Officer at the University, said: “The course is administered by Coachwise and the qualification is recognised within the teaching profession. This course is excellent for aspiring sports teacher’s CV and especially good for those looking to go into the teaching profession.”

The event is open to the public and costs £70 for students and £78 for non-students. No playing experience of football is required.
