        劣势在于，很少有学校能提供关于methodology（方法论）的教学或者课程，此处略去关于po li tics的任何因素不谈。

        请看论语中的这句话：学而不思则罔，思而不学则殆

        有人将之翻译为

        Learning without thought is labor lost; thought without learning is perilous.

        另外，英国著名汉学家 Arthur Waley 的译文是：

        He who learns but does not think, is lost. He who thinks but does not learn is in great danger.

        注意三个问题：

        1、学

        个人以为，论语中，学的意思实际上指“读书”。所以learn的翻译有欠准确。

        2、思

        个人以为，论语中，思的意思并非指思考，而是指“怀疑”、“批判”。所以翻译为thought也不大妥。

        3、罔

        罔的意思是指受到欺蒙，因此应该是“被欺骗”才对，而“迷失”lost不算太准确。

        综上所述，我个人尝试的翻译是

        he who reads without doubting can be deceived;

        he who doubts without reading can be imperiled.
